About me...Máire Caulfield

From Galway, I am the eldest of six, born into a farming family outside Loughrea.  Now, living in Ballyhaunis, Co. Mayo, it is a privilege to offer my services as a therapist for individual adult counselling and psychotherapy.

As a mother of three young adults, I returned to education, where I qualified from the college "with a difference", ICPPD, International College of Personal and Professional Development with an Bachelor of Arts (Honours) Degree in Holistic Integrative Counselling & Psychotherapy.  

My humanistic approach has an holistic emphasis.  I believe that mind, body and spirit are all interconnected and if one aspect is out of sorts, this affects all aspects of our being.   I am integrative humanistic counsellor and believe we are all born full of potential and therapy provides the conditions for reaching this potential.  

Having a particular interest in Family Systems and Intergenerational Trauma, I believe we are all part of much greater collective, operating often unconsciously.   Therapy helps increase self awareness, and greater understanding, which naturally brings about ability for acceptance and compassion for oneself.

The Self is the centre focus of my therapeutic approach.  It took me quite a lot of time to get in touch with my own "lost Self" and my personal journey inspires me to offer the benefit of what I have experienced in therapeutic relationship, to others.
